It takes around four days to cover the entire route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> From a small town in the Sacred Valley of the Incas to Machu Picchu. However, it is worth mentioning that, on the third day, the route ends in the small village of Aguas Calientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of altitude, the Lares Trail is also very similar to the most popular options. From there, we follow a 3-hour walk to the first accommodation, in Huacawasi, where you will be surrounded by the Andes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Day 2 \u2013 From Huacawasi to the Sacsayllame Gorge, and one of the most beautiful scenes on the way<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On the second day of walking, we can say that we encounter a higher level of difficulty compared to the first day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will be an 8-hour hike from Huacawasi, passing through the Sacsayllame Gorge. You&#8217;ll visit local attractions as well, such as\u00a0the Handicraft Market, where you may find the finest<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.viajesmachupicchu.travel\/en\/handcrafts-that-represent-peru-the-best-souvenirs-to-take-home\/\" title=\"\">Peruvian handicrafts.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The final activity of that&nbsp;day will be to take the train to Aguas Calientes.
