These traits resonated with Pachac\u00fatec&#8217;s leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp; Later, this Inca monarch worked with his son, T\u00fapac Yupanqui, to unite the Inca Empire. They strengthened ties with neighboring tribes and ensured stability. Now, let\u2019s see how Pachacutec distributed Cusco to resemble a Puma:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Head<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/viajesmachupicchu.travel\/en\/destinations\/cusco\/archeological-sites\/sacsayhuaman\" title=\"\">Sacsayhuam\u00e1n<\/a><\/strong> Fortress, located on a hill overlooking Cusco, is considered the puma\u2019s head. Also, this massive structure, built with precision-cut stones, exemplifies Inca engineering. Its zigzag walls resemble the puma\u2019s teeth, emphasizing its fierce and protective nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Body<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The puma&#8217;s body and heart are both located in Cusco&#8217;s historic center. However, how do we know exactly where the body is?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The body is segmented by two rivers in Cusco: the Tullumayo and the Saphy. In turn, each half was divided into two, so each quarter was related to one of the four regions of the empire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Tail<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, we have the Puma\u2019s tail, which aligns with \u201cPumaqchupan\u201d Street, which actually means puma\u2019s tail in the <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.viajesmachupicchu.travel\/en\/quechua-words-and-meanings\/\"><strong>Quechua<\/strong><\/a> language. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we said before, the two rivers were essential to see the shape. Another street, \u201cPumacurco,\u201d serves as the puma\u2019s spine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, what does pumacurco mean? You\u2019re right, it means Puma\u2019s spine.
