This reflects Peru\u2019s commitment to embracing its multicultural identity and recognizing the diverse backgrounds that shape our nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Food<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>African slaves brought wonderful new ingredients and cooking styles to Peru, blending these with local and Spanish traditions, and creating some of our favorite dishes. They introduced ingredients like cassava, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.viajesmachupicchu.travel\/en\/peruvian-flavors-your-ultimate-guide-to-native-spices\/\" title=\"\">aj\u00ed panca<\/a><\/strong>, etc, which pair beautifully with llama, beef, and corn.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their cooking methods, especially for seafood and meats, added great flavor to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.viajesmachupicchu.travel\/en\/essential-peruvian-food-10-dishes-you-must-try\/\" title=\"\">Peru&#8217;s cuisine.<\/a><\/strong> One standout dish is carapulcra con sopa seca.
